Fencing and Gates Expertise:

We provide fencing and gate solutions that not only enhance the security and privacy of your property but also add aesthetic value to your outdoor space. Our fencing services offer a diverse range of options, from traditional wooden panels to contemporary metal designs, allowing you to choose the perfect style to complement your home and garden.

Fencing
Feather edge fence boards are designed to be overlapped vertically and securely fixed to a frame, forming the core of your custom fencing solution.
Featheredge / Vertilap fence panels are constructed using 18 factory-treated brown planks and 2×1 back rails, which also serve as the cap.
We offer made-to-measure panels for widths that differ from the standard 6-foot size, as well as double-sided panels. Green-treated planks are also available upon request.
To extend the lifespan and maintain the aesthetic appeal of your fence, it is recommended to apply a high-quality fence paint once the panels begin to fade—typically after one year, depending on weather conditions.

Gates
A taller garden gate provides secure access to your property, while a shorter gate creates a welcoming entrance to your garden.
Our gates are crafted from factory-treated Featheredge or Tongue and Groove/Cladded Timber.
All gates are handmade to specification locally in Nottingham. Cladded gates are available in both factory-treated brown or untreated options, with the latter requiring treatment to ensure longevity.
At Nottingham Fencing, we offer a wide range of gates, including bespoke designs, and can manufacture and fit the ideal gate or gates tailored to your property’s needs.

Our expert team takes pride in delivering sturdy and durable fencing installations that stand the test of time. We use high-quality materials sourced from reputable suppliers, ensuring that every panel is built to withstand the elements and provide long-lasting protection for your property. Whether you require boundary fencing to define your garden borders or decorative fencing to add character to your outdoor area, we offer tailored solutions to meet your specific needs and preferences.

At RGS, we specialize in installing a wide variety of commercial fencing options tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients. Below are the different types of fencing we offer:

Barbed Wire Fencing

Barbed wire fences have been a trusted solution for farmers and large property owners for decades, offering an effective way to secure cattle and protect property lines. Cattle, including cows and bulls, quickly learn to avoid crossing the fence once they have encountered it a few times. Barbed wire fencing is cost-effective, easy to install, and requires minimal maintenance, making it a reliable choice for agricultural operations worldwide. While some may find its appearance less aesthetically pleasing, it is an excellent option for keeping deer off your land and preventing predators from roaming across your property.

Smooth Wire Fencing (Horse Fencing)

Smooth wire fencing is ideal for horse enclosures, as it eliminates the risk of injury that barbed wire poses to horses. Horses are known to scrape their bodies along fences, potentially causing cuts and scars when barbed wire is used. Smooth wire fences, typically made from 12 or 14-gauge wire, are strong enough to contain horses without the risk of harm. For added safety, grid squares can be used to prevent hooves from becoming stuck, though lined fences may occasionally require attention to ensure horses do not become entangled.

Welded Wire Fencing

Welded wire fencing consists of vertical wires welded to horizontal beams, creating smaller openings that help contain smaller livestock such as geese, chickens, and llamas. This type of fence is particularly effective in protecting gardens and crops, as it keeps unwanted animals at bay. Welded wire fences are commonly used by farmers and homesteaders to safeguard valuable crops and prevent larger wildlife from damaging property.

Mesh Wire Fencing

Also known as chain link fencing, mesh wire fencing provides enhanced security with smaller openings that make it difficult for animals to pass through. Mesh wire fences are a popular choice for high-value or at-risk animals, such as cattle or horses, offering safety without the sharp edges found in other fencing options. This type of fencing is effective for deterring escape attempts and ensuring the safety of livestock.

Field Fencing

Field fences are ideal for containing larger animals or preventing strong, aggressive animals from pushing through the fence. Property owners in regions like Texas often use field fences with higher gauge wire to deter wild boars and other large animals from breaching the enclosure. These fences are typically reinforced with stronger wire at the top and bottom to enhance stability and resistance to pressure.

Palisade Security Fencing

Palisade security fencing is made from steel pales attached to horizontal rails and vertical posts. Known for its versatility and durability, it provides a robust solution for a wide range of perimeter security needs. Palisade fencing is commonly used in industrial areas, public spaces, and high-security zones such as schools, airports, railways, and data centers. Available in various configurations, palisade fencing offers protection against intrusion, even from attackers using tools like grinders or powered equipment. The height of palisade fences can reach up to 3.6 meters, making them an excellent choice for large properties requiring substantial security.

Benefits of Palisade Fencing

Palisade fencing is highly regarded for its ability to secure both public and private properties. Its strong steel construction provides a solid barrier, effectively deterring unauthorized entry. The pointed tops of the pales, combined with reinforced steel, make it particularly difficult for intruders to scale, offering a significant anti-climb feature. Palisade fencing has a long history, dating back to ancient civilizations, and has evolved into a modern security solution used worldwide.
